Next Small Animal Day - Sat 17th May 2008

 # As of April we will now start to have a Small Animal Days on the 1st & 3rd saturday of every month #

If you see an animal on the website that you REALLY REALLY are interested in then please call us as we can often make arrangements to meet that particular animal at the centre or in the foster home.

Any small animals taken into the RSPCA  are placed with Foster carers and on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month Rabbits, Rats, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters etc are brought to the Brent Knoll Centre.

The animals are on view from 11am to 1pm and from 1.30pm to 4pm and available for adoption. Our team of experts are on hand to give help and advise on the welfare and upkeep of any small animals.

So if you have never owned a small animal and don't know where to start, please come along and let us help you.

We are always in need of good Foster Homes for Small Animals. If you think you can help, please contact the RSPCA Centre on 01278 782671.

Adoption Fees

 Pairs £15.00    Single £8.00

WE'VE BEEN RESERVED!

Hutches and Runs

The RSPCA has been campaigning for a better standard of living for small animals.

Hutches and runs are the most important part of this. We have guidelines regarding rabbit and guinea pig accommodation.

As far as we are concerned the BIGGER the BETTER!!   Converted sheds are great!

Guinea Pigs    (L x W x H)

 Hutch - 4ft x 2ft x 15''  / 120cm x 60cm x 38cm ( 8 sq ft /  0.74 sq m).

The sleeping area must be at least 1ft x 7''

Run -  4ft x 3ft x 15'' / 120cm x 60cm x 60cm  ( 12 sq ft).

PLEASE NOTE that these sizes are GUIDELINES and there will always be an element of flexibility providing good welfare standards can be maintained.

We understand that this can all be a bit confusing!

For more details or advice come to one of our Small Animal Days or give us a call on 01278 782671.

Max Ref WG3258

Smooth haired, 5 month old, Male.

Max is looking for a lonely female guinea pig to go and live with.

He is going to be castrated this week. If you are interested in Max you must have the facility to keep he separate from the female guinea pig for the first 4 weeks.

He is extremely cute and easy to handle.
